Clear skies finally arrived, so it was time to take the Seestar S30 Pro outside and put it to work!
In this video, I take you along for a real evening of astrophotography with the ZWO Seestar S30 Pro, starting with the basic tripod setup and heading outside to get everything running in Alt-Az mode.
I walk through connecting to the Seestar app, switching mount modes, using the Sky Atlas to choose a target, and configuring the imaging settings. With the Triangulum Galaxy not yet in a good position, I decided to image the Butterfly Nebula instead.
This isn't a carefully staged demonstration—it's a look at what it's actually like to take the Seestar S30 Pro outside, choose a target, start imaging, and watch the image build in real time
This is the first of the Siril:From Beginners to Advanced series for installing and setting up Siril, a free open-source astrophotography image processing program for MacOS, Linux and WIndows (64-bit). I will also go over adding StarNet2 (for star removal and recomposition) and GraXpert (for background neutralization).
In this episode, I’ll explain how to stack images in Siril using a script that does the star alignment and stacking for you.
